Problem
→ Confusing business model and lack of services.
Telarus’s business model isn’t the easiest to understand, and that confusion is amplified by the fact that the menu and homepage are void of important services the brand provides. The user needs to quickly gather who Telarus is and what they do.
→ New branding can result in a loss of recognition.
Telarus was refreshing their branding, and there was a delicate balance between going too far having the brand look unrecognizable, and not doing enough and having it look disjointed.
→ Difficulty accessing resources.
Telarus had plenty of different resources, but they were all siloed into individual indexes, making them hard to browse as a user, as well as hard to manage.
Solution
→ Highlight services and tell the story of who Telarus is.
We first wanted to add pages around who Telarus is along with leadership and mission pages so users can better understand the brand and what they do. Then we included Services as a main level navigation dropdown and listed each in a clear and concise way for easy browsing. We also created a dedicated section on the homepage with enticing cards that drove users to individual pages robust with information. This included compelling iconography to set differentiators apart and call outs for key benefits.
→ Integrate and evolve new brand guidelines while preserving equity.
I collaborated with their agency to gain a full comprehension of the brand guidelines, and made recommendations and revisions based on user needs and best practices. I was able to create a few iterations to make sure we had the right balance and hierarchy of color and other additional elements. I also built a complex design system to create a natural evolution into their digital platform.
→ Position Telarus as education leaders.
We created a robust knowledge hub that encompassed vlogs, case studies, and videos. We also elevated these to be featured in a slider under the hero homepage. The Blog, News, Resources, and Events pages now have clear, unencumbered hierarchy and scan-ability, utilizing color-coding and new user intuitive standards. We additionally cross-pollinated services pages with related articles and resources for higher visibility.
